Southern Cross Round The Bays 2026 - The Countdown is on!
We have a great team representing Wellington MS at this year's Southern Cross Round the Bays, which will be happening on Sunday 15 February 2026.
Some have been training and some have been extra busy fundraising too - we're currently ranking 8th out of 119 teams for our $423 fundraised so far. For such a little team, that's a great start!

A big hip-hip hooray to Debs, Alina, Steve, Suzie, Heiko, Emma, Denis and Matt for getting involved on the day and helping to raise awareness about MS. If you would like to make a donation to one of team members, big or small, that would be greatly appreciated and your donation will go towards enabling PwMS to live their best lives.
It's not too late if you and your family or training buddies would like to join our team - we would be very grateful if you choose to help us to raise awareness and funds for local services for PwMS.
The easiest way to sign up to support our cause is to register at https://rtbwellington26.grassrootz.com/wellington-ms (opens an external webpage). Important Note: When you are given the opportunity to select a charity partner, please ensure your entry to raise funds for Wellington MS.
We will be encouraging all our team members to work together and meet up on the day, if that suits.
We have five entries to distribute to our top team members and can also loan you an orange Wellington MS or Multiple Sclerosis New Zealand t-shirt to wear on the day. If you do sign up then please let us know so we can talk to everyone about raceday.
Feel free to get in touch with suzie@wellingtonms.org.nz or your Community Advisor if you have any queries. There are some frequently asked questions below too.
Q1 - I see you need to pick up your bib before the day. Can I pick one up for someone else too?
A1 - This is run by the event organisers and they make the process as easy as possible. You can pick up others bibs, as long as you have their details / QRs.
Q2 - Do you all meet up before the race and walk together?
A2 - At present all our team are walking the 8.5km and we expect to meet up somewhere before the event. We can agree a spot for everyone to aim to meet before the day. People can walk together or split up as they choose too, although we hope to all meet up again at the finish line. Some of us will be going out for something to eat after that too, do let us know if you plan to meet up in case we need to book a table somewhere.

Last year we split into two or three groups, as we preferred walking at different speeds. I'm very slow these days so I'll be near the back.
